Research activity

As manager, my responsibilities include managing the team and the platform, as well as developing methodological approaches in metabolomics and building pilot research projects aimed at positioning metabolomics within systems biology.

Developing analytical methods in mass spectrometry and bioinformatics tools to better characterize the early metabolic deviations associated with the development of chronic metabolic diseases and to determine the relative contribution of different determinants related to these changes (part of diet):
- Metabolic profiling using multiplatform approaches (UPLC/QToF, GC/ToF) to obtain broad coverage of metabolites present in biofluids and tissues.
- Developing analytical strategies for the identification of biomarkers using ultra-high-resolution mass spectrometry and bioinformatics tools.
- Developing models and tools to increase knowledge extraction from high-throughput data.
