Formation

In addition to academic training (see below), our unit is heavily involved in various outreach events. We welcome numerous interns from the 9th and 10th grades; we participate in local (Nuées Ardentes) and national (Savanturiers) events ; and we hold school events (Plan'EAt).

 

Doctoral training

The unit is affiliated with the Life Sciences, Health, Agronomy, and Environment doctoral school. Forty-nine staff members hold the Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (HDR) (Habilitation to Supervise Research) for thesis supervision. We place great importance on this training by contributing our expertise, offering tailored training, and providing opportunities to participate in various events (local, national, and international).

Master's in Biology and Health

To meet society's demands for a better understanding of health issues related to chronic diseases, this master's program offers training in :
- a multidisciplinary approach to fundamental and translational biology ;
- innovation in the development of health-related products.

DU Nutrition aggression and chronic diseases

The objective of this course is to provide students with the skills to:
• Master the physiological and therapeutic foundations of nutrition, particularly for patients with stress or chronic illnesses.
• Gain knowledge of the metabolic and nutritional disorders observed during these conditions.
• Understand the specific nutritional management and needs of chronic illnesses.
• Understand the tools, techniques, and principles of nutrition for the care of any patient with stress or chronic illness, whether hospitalized or at home.

DU Nutrition and Physical Activity

The diploma is divided into a core curriculum, providing general knowledge of nutrition and physical activity, and two options, each open every other year, allowing for a specific approach to these concepts with regard to different populations and objectives:
• Prevention-Health Option: Acquire theoretical and practical knowledge of the preventive and curative role of physical activity and nutrition in healthy and ill individuals
• Sports Performance Option: Acquire theoretical and practical knowledge of nutritional management for athletes with the aim of optimizing performance

European DIU in Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism

The educational objectives of this diploma are multiple:
• Master the physiological foundations of nutrition and metabolism
• Understand and understand the galenic and pharmaceutical aspects of artificial nutrition
• Understand the tools, techniques, and principles of prescribing artificial nutrition in acute and chronic illnesses
• Deepen knowledge of patients who warrant the prescription of artificial nutrition

DIU Eating Disorders

The educational objectives of this diploma are to:
• Train professionals in the multidisciplinary and multi-professional management of eating disorders in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes inter-region
• Develop a common culture and language to lay the foundations for future collaborations between professionals, essential for improving the care of these patients

DIU Obesity Medecine

The objective of this diploma program, eligible for CPD, is to enable healthcare professionals to develop their knowledge and skills in obesity management and to develop a personalized care plan with the patient.

DIU Phytoterapy

The educational objectives of this diploma:                                                                                              • Acquire knowledge and skills related to prescribing or advising on phytotherapy (general notions of pharmacognosy, clinical case studies of pathophysiology, and the choice of plants and their pharmaceutical forms)
• Offer practitioners an alternative or complement to traditional allopathy
