Individuals' diets are influenced by social and cultural factors. Children's food tastes and perceptions, primarily transmitted by their parents, are likely to depend on their social background. As it is known that parents' feeding strategies and food education differ depending on their social status, this study aimed to examine how food perceptions and perceptions vary among children.

Vitamin D deficiency is associated with decreased performance in athletes. The incidence of vitamin D deficiency is very high in this population, particularly in winter. Researchers have shown, in an animal model of excessive training, a loss of strength and muscle atrophy during vitamin D deficiency.

Scientists working within our Metabolism Exploration Platform and the national MetaboHUB infrastructure to which it belongs, were interested in the current state of the application of metabolomics (study of metabolites/small molecules present in biological systems) and its future prospects.

The study by CERREV and the Human Nutrition Unit reveals that social background strongly influences the tastes and food perceptions of French children, accentuating health inequalities.
