Lipid analysis

Presentation

The gas/liquid chromatography platform is housed within the Human Nutrition Unit. It is managed by the ASMS team for its scientific activities aimed at studying the links between dietary lipid quality and chronic pathologies. We carry out various analyses :

•    determination of the fatty acid profile of biological or food matrices using gas chromatography (GC-FID),
•    separation of polar and apolar lipids,
•    characterization of phospholipid classes,
•    analysis of ceramides, triglycerides, diglycerides using HPLC;
•    blood lipid biochemistry (triglycerides, free fatty acids, glycerol, cholesterol + glycemia) on automated systems.

With an HPLC system coupled to a universal detector, we can develop methodologies for the detection of other types of molecules, such as amino acids. We are used to working with our partners to develop all stages of the process (from collection to sample preparation) to suit a new matrix.
