Research Activities

Physiologist/Nutritionist specializing in muscle wasting and mobility loss in the elderly and in patients. My research project aims to understand, slow, and limit this muscle loss during aging, with the aim of developing nutritional strategies adapted and optimized to the response capacities of seniors, complementing physical activity and medication. The approaches used are integrative, taking into account interactions between other organs involved in muscle homeostasis (liver/muscle interactions, intestines/microbiota/muscle interactions, specific needs of certain organs). We also consider the interactions between different nutrients (proteins/energy substrates/antioxidants) in qualitative and quantitative terms (plant vs. animal proteins, digestion speed, etc.) and the impact of food matrices and their processing on food efficiency in seniors. The senior population is also very heterogeneous in terms of its health status, and we are currently moving towards a more personalized approach to senior nutrition, adapted both in terms of prevention and intervention in the event of a health incident.
