ReseautAGE: Nutrition-health network for successful aging

The innovative ReseautAGE research project aims to initiate a nutrition-health network for the development of participatory research among those aged 55 and over in the Puy-de-Dôme department, by bringing together as many stakeholders as possible involved in nutrition-health for seniors.

For several years, a rather paradoxical observation has been made: populations are living longer, but the increase in the number of years of healthy life is not proportional to the increase in life expectancy. And our Clermont metropolis is no exception! In such a context, carrying out a comprehensive prevention action through the diet of seniors could allow everyone to age in better health.

The ReseautAGE project, launched in January 2022, is part of this approach and initiates a nutrition-health network to develop participatory research, by connecting scientists, all field stakeholders and seniors themselves. ReseautAGE, funded by Clermont Auvergne Métropole, is led by the Human Nutrition Unit (INRAE-UCA) in partnership with the Mutualité Française and the CCAS of Clermont-Ferrand.

Why join RéseautAGE ?

ReseautAGE currently includes around fifteen public, private, academic, associative, and citizen stakeholders (ARSEPT, CLICs, CCAS, CARSAT, IREPS, etc.). In the first phase, we identified stakeholders who had expressed an interest in senior nutrition. The meetings held demonstrated a genuine interest and strong motivation from all to actively participate in building such a network. For the second phase, a collective prospecting phase will begin to co-construct the network's operation and main objectives. To this end, we will organize collective reflection meetings whose objective will be to share scientific and field knowledge. This will involve discussing the needs and expectations of the various stakeholders, and the possibilities in terms of network activities and organization. Practical actions in real conditions will be launched to test the network's operability on a participatory research pilot project.

If you are a stakeholder in the department, if nutrition and health are among your interests, and if the principle of action research through a participatory approach seems relevant to you, then join ReseautAGE so that we can build action proposals together!
